The utility model provides a water quality controller for a water tank. A controller system comprises a water tank (17) and a water quality controller (10). The upper end of the water quality controller (10) is communicated with a vent of the water tank via an air communicating pipe (11); the lower end of the water quality controller (10) is communicated with the water tank in a standardized water line (20) via a water communicating pipe (14); the top end of the water tank (17) is sealed by a water tank cover (16); water flows into the water quality controller (10) via a floater water inlet valve (12) controlling water inflow to reach to the standardized water line (20); and a chlorine control system and an overflow system are mounted in the water quality controller (10). The chlorine control system keeps micro-positive pressure of an air chamber in the water tank and prevents free chlorine leaking out, thereby giving full play to disinfection. When the water inflow outreaches water outflow, free chlorine-contained air in the water tank is emitted out and back-flushes a disinfecting filter core, so that efficiency and service life of a filter are increased. With electricity, disinfectant and filtration, a secondary pollution of tap water is isolated by the use of the water quality controller for water tank.
