Web Technology and AAC
The basic concepts of the web technology that consists of browsers, internet and web servers are given, and how to access the information in the web is explained, and the currently available web-based service systems in which people can make, upload, share, find, download and use the AAC information easily by using just web browsers are introduced.
Abstract
The evolution of web technology opens a new era in software service and information sharing. Web 2.0, the current stage of web evolution, allows people to generate information in a virtual community and creates collective intelligence in many different areas by the collaboration, collective efforts, and competition of many individuals. Recently, web-based augmentative and alternative communication(AAC) services appears for easily sharing, using and extending AAC information such as AAC boards and activities. This article gives the basic concepts of the web technology that consists of browsers, internet and web servers, and explains how to access the information in the web. It also introduces the currently available web-based service systems in which people can make, upload, share, find, download and use the AAC information easily by using just web browsers.
