Abstract

Different visions about the ways handheld computers should be used in K-12 classrooms abound in educational technology circles, and it is vital for parents, educators, and students to understand the defining characteristics, assumptions, and goals of these perspectives. While some of these visions of classroom handheld computer use may be complementary, some are clearly competitive. This article was published in a Fall 2003 issue of the TCEA TechEdge magazine .
