Abstract

Centering the patient perspective is crucial to advancing healthcare for individuals, particularly when individuals belong to or identify as part of a minority or historically marginalized group. This perspective provides a firsthand account shared by one transgender woman and her lived experiences with accessing genderaffirming medical care, giving voice to and humanizing the experiences of transgender individuals who are navigating the US healthcare system.
