Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To rationalize the retrieving and inspection work of stored books by instructing the position of a book rack housing a retrieved book on the display screen of a monitor and providing a stored book automatic retrieving/ inspecting means for lighting the visible display of an RF-ID reading device. SOLUTION: If a book is out on loan, a leading situation detail is displayed on a monitor and, in other cases data transfer is carried out with an RF-ID reading device 10 installed in places of a book rack 16 or a reading table 17 via a radio LAN device as a relay. If the book is being read in a room, on- reading is displayed on the monitor and, if it is in the book rack 16, the position of the book is displayed on the monitor and the proper visible display 12 of the book 16 is lit. A user goes to the book rack 16 having the lit visible display 12, retrieves the zone of the lit visible display 12 by an RF-ID portable terminal 14 and thereby finds the book in the vicinity of the lit visible display 12.
