From the point of evolution from data to knowledge, some concepts of database, data mining and knowledge discovery, and their relationships are elaborated, and the model architecture of Data Mining system is also described. The frame of Data Mining projects based on the analysis service of SQL Server 2005 is presented as a practical case.
