Emotional Intelligence (EI) for A Better Being: A Systematic Review on Outcomes of EI

Abstract

Emotional intelligence (EI) and its competencies helps an individual to become a better being. it is indispensable for the success and personal growth of an individual. Though EI has been rigorously researched, all those are widespread and most researchers focused on separate outcomes. The purpose of this paper is to systematically review and consolidate available evidences to get a quick view about different outcomes of EI and how its impact on an individual. This paper reviewed 39 articles on individual and personal outcomes of EI. 23 specific individual and personal outcomes which mark one's identity are discussed. The effect of high EI and low EI on an individual is discussed based on previous researches. 15 outcomes of having high EI and 8 outcomes of having low EI are identified. High EI results in outcomes like resilience, pain management, effective coping strategies, and life satisfaction, etc.… Low EI results in smoking, problem behaviors, adjustment problems etc… Broad effects are consolidated in a single paper. The paper showed a light in its findings about the effect of EI in such a way that it will help further researchers and trainers.
