The Effectiveness of Teaching Method, a CommunicativeLanguage Teaching Method
The result of this research is that the teacher of SDN Pondok Cina 5 uses Grammar Translation Method, which is less effective than Communicative Language Teaching.
Abstract
Teaching is an activity or an act doing by someone to make or to explain anything by giving instruction, explanation or training to guide someone or group in order to make them understand. Teaching children, teenagers, and adult are different in many ways. Teaching children require special way (technique) and method. In this research paper the writer analyses and discusses about the teaching method. The writer compares the teaching method used by the writer herself with the teaching method used by the English teacher of SDN Pondok Cina 5 Depok. The writer teaches use the communicative way which is teaching English through song. The aims of the study are to find out the method used in teaching English by English teacher at SDN Pondok Cina 5 Depok, to find out whether the teacher’s teaching method is effective or not, and to find out which method is better used in teaching English to elementary students, the teacher’s method or the writer’s method. The writer uses the qualitative method, by this method we analyse the data by classifying data according to the theory we use. The result of this research is that the teacher of SDN Pondok Cina 5 uses Grammar Translation Method. The method is less effective than Communicative Language Teaching.
