Abstract

The term retailing is getting much attention now a day in India. The purpose of this paper is examining the concept of retailing and in Indian context and to how human resource management is key factor in retailing. The findings of study highlight that the retail industry is looking for human resources to see the customers at retail outlets and to motivate them indirectly for more buying. The finding also gives a clear picture about the HR challenges in retail industry in India. This paper suggests the need for HR professionals to understand the various aspect of retail industry and human resource management before it is used in organisation.
