Abstract

An optical fiber communication device comprises: a modulator, a coupler, and an electronic-to-optical converter. The modulator can modulate N different digital streaming signals respectively onto N radio frequency carrier waves of different frequencies to generate N (N2) modulation signals of different frequencies. The coupler is coupled with the modulator to receive the modulation signals and combine the modulation signals into a combined signal with N components of different frequencies. The electronic-to-optical converter is coupled with the coupler to receive the combined signal and convert the combined signal into a single-wavelength optical signal carrying N radio frequency signals having different center frequencies; and, transmitting the optical signal through a single optical fiber cable. Thus, the present invention cannot only transmit a large amount of digital streaming signals by a single optical fiber cable, but also reduce the used amount of electronic-to-optical converters to greatly reduce the cost.
