This paper is intended to analyze and assess the most modern game engines and their key principles and highlights the recommendations and fundamental conclusions on some important types of game engines when used to implement serious games for education.

Abstract

Gamification in learning and education was viewed as having mass appeal among the learners. Throughout the year's games have been explicitly designed to educate people. Game engines are software tools that automate the highly challenging game development process. Game engines provide software developers with a medium for developing a game with a compatible interface to deal with game difficulty nowadays. There is a clear necessity to identify and evaluate the quality of the game engines and their diverse aspects to minimize effort and enhance their efficiency. This paper is intended to analyze and assess the most modern game engines and their key principles. Finally, the paper highlights the recommendations and fundamental conclusions on some important types of game engines when used to implement serious games for education.
