Telecom HVAC cool connections : HVAC in telecommunications facilities

Abstract

Thanks to the Internet, cell phones, and the PC, billions of dollars are being spent to build and maintain the infrastructure needed for a plugged-in society. The buildings that house telecommunication equipment require oddities including DC power, round-the-clock operation, zero downtime, and as much as 100 watts per square foot. This article describes a range of these facilities and their design requirements.
