During a period of rotational motion of a photographic subject, a video recording start point and a video recording end point are output, and a captured moving image relating to the rotational motion is saved. The video recording time of a specific section included in the moving image is calculated, a playback speed for the specific section is determined in conformity to a playback time of predetermined length, and the specific section of the moving image is played back. Through playback in conformity to the prescribed playback time irrespective of the video recording time of the specific section, it is possible to play back the back surface of the photographic subject at an appropriate speed in conformity to the playback time.
