Abstract

In Today’s life, changes are rapidly seen in world of work. Hence Human resource management should be prepared to deal with the effects of such changing world of work. Human resource management is the process of bringing people & organizations together to achieve the goals. Human resource management plays an important role in today’s modern business. In the 50’s there was a strong belief that employees were selected not to ask ‘Why’ but only ‘to do & die’. But now Indian organizations are experiencing some of the changes. The new generation of MBA is coming into the industrial organizations. And hence recent trends in human resource management shows HR managers means understanding the changing skill requirements, implications of globalization, workforce diversity, employee involvement, corporate downsizing & many more. Now-a-days in an organization, employees do not like being treated as puppets or bossed. On the other, manager feel they only should think & let workers do. The saying that boss is always right still exists. The role of human resources is changing as fast as technology & global market. With the latest HR innovations, the challenge for HR managers is to keep up to date. HR managers have to manage all the challenges from recruiting employees, to train them & building up an effective career management system for them. In the era of globalization, organizations are becoming increasingly competitive, dynamic, innovative and productive. It is in this context that we need to innovative HR practices to prepare employees to meet the challenges of a knowledge-based economy and to respond to the dynamics of the work environment with technological skill and a high level of thinking (Times of India).
