Abstract

A vehicle and method of controlling the vehicle includes identifying an EV priority zone for the vehicle along a travel path, determining the position of the vehicle with respect to the expected forthcoming EV priority zone; Implementing a plain electric operating mode of the vehicle on the basis of the position of the vehicle and a current operating mode of the vehicle; and implementing a charge operation mode of the vehicle on the basis of the position of the vehicle and a current operating mode of the vehicle ( 1 ).
