Abstract

Strip-shaped electrodes 2 are coated over an end surface of an electronic component 1 and possibly also two major adjoining surfaces. A plate 3 which is provided with through slits 3a having width corresponding to the width of electrodes to be formed, is located above an electrode paste bath 4 while an electronic component is arranged above the slit plate so that its end surface extends across the through slits. Before or after this step, the electrode paste 2f is extruded to a constant level beyond the upper surface of the slit plate so that the electrode paste can be or is applied to the electronic component.
