Mode analysis and integrated optimization design of a circular sawing machine based on CAD/CAE/CAT

Abstract

The first six natural frequencies and the mode shapes of the circular sawing machine,with consideretion of the various joint surfaces,were analyzed based on Solidworks and ANSYS.Subsequently,the mode tests were performed and the experimental and numerical results were compared.Furthermore,the weak point of the structure was identified and the improvement proposal was made for the column.By using ISIGHT,optimum design process was carried on for the column by takirg the first three modes as objective of optimization.The best values were found by repected iterative operation at last.The results show that the calculated 2nd,3th,4th and 5th modes are corresponded to the 1st,3th,4th and 5th tested modes.The calculated 2nd and 3th natural frequencies are identical with test values,while the 4th and 5th natural frequencies differs about 20%.In comparison to the initial values,the 1st natural frequency is enhanced by aproximately 20% while the 2nd and 3th enhanced by about 50%.
