The majority of the human population is today living their whole lives within the cities. Public places are having a bigger role in our day-to-day routines and life. Here the author investigates the different needs to acquire happiness depending on your culture, socioeconomic status, sexuality, gender, race etcetera. A theoretical framework for creating happiness with public places is being discussed and then compared with a casestudy made in Prishtina were interviews were compiled with city planners and observations were made in the citylife. Conclussions discuss the importance of urban vegetation and the difficulties to apply theory to real life situations.
