Diabetic polyneuropathy is the most often complication of diabetes mellitus. However, patients with diabetes may have other neuropathies, which need to be recognized and treated. Chronic nnflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy is the most common non-diabetic polyneuropathy in patients with diabetes.
