SkyFrame is designed to bridge the gap between small and large networks that have a mix of voice and data, and addresses the low-end TDMA and DAMA market while addressing all of the SCPC market; both low and high-end applications.

Abstract

SkyFrame (SF) can be considered a "hybrid" technology. It takes the best of DAMA (demand assigned multiple access), TDMA (time division multiple access) and SCPC (single channel per carrier or point-to-point) technology and fills a niche application that the other three technologies cannot. SkyFrame is ideal for small to medium size corporate networks that require cost effective efficient support of both voice and data. SkyFrame, unlike the other three technologies, is frame relay based, and as such it is ideally suited to the "bursty" nature of LAN traffic. This cannot be said for the other three technologies. SkyFrame is designed to bridge the gap between small and large networks that have a mix of voice and data. Current star/TDMA and mesh/DAMA offerings cannot economically scale down to small-and-medium size networks. SkyFrame addresses the low-end TDMA and DAMA market while addressing all of the SCPC market; both low and high-end applications.
