The repetition of the QA BeamChecker Plus field analyzer ion chambers is consistent with the relative clinical standard and is an ideal equipment for routine quality assurance testing.
Objective To evaluate the performance of the QA BeamChecker Plus Field Analyzer through comprehensive quality assurance. Methods Dual sides of the QA BeamChecker Plus were irradiated 12 times with X ray and electron beams respectively.PTW reference chamber was employed while X ray was irradiated and standard deviations were calculated in order to evaluate the repetition of each ion chamber. The original data measured with QA BeamChecker Plus were compared with those that calculated with our own software and Communication software 2.1.2 so as to evaluate the accuracy. Results The maximum SD for the central ion chamber repetition of the QA BeamChecker Plus field analyzer was ±0.102%(16MeV-electron)and that of the top, bottom, right and left chamber was ±0.104%(6MV-X ray),±0.090%(6MeV electron),±0.162%(20MeV electron),±0.120%(6MV-X ray) respectively. The flatness, symmetry and central axis repetition collected with our own software were perfectly consistent with that calculated with the Communication software 2.1.2.The maximum difference between the field dose at the depth of 3cm and 10cm was 2.8(2.2)(15MV G-T symmetry) for X-ray,and it is 0.8(1.3)(16MeV G-T symmetry) for the electron beam. Conclusion The repetition of the QA BeamChecker Plus field analyzer ion chambers is consistent with the relative clinical standard. The field output measured at the specified depth and points can represent the relevant alternation.Being easy to operate, the QA BeamChecker Plus Field Analyzer is an ideal equipment for routine quality assurance testing.
