Various fault detec tion techniques in the mobile communication with data mining are described and it is demonstrated that data mining can be used to identify mobile communication fraud, improve marketing effectiveness, and identify network faults.
Mobile communication companies generate a tremendous amount of data. These data include call detail data , which describes the calls that traverse the mobile commun ication networks, network data, which describes the state o f the hardware and software components in the network, and customer data, which describes the mobile communication customers. This paper describes various fault detec tion techniques in the mobile communication with data mining. And describes how data mining can be used to uncover useful information buried within these data sets. S everal data mining applications are described and together they demonstrate that data mining can be used to identif y mobile communication fraud, improve marketing effectiveness, and identify network faults.
