Mathematical Investigation - the Maths Talent Quest

Abstract

The Maths Talent Quest (MTQ) offers students the opportunity to demonstrate their mathematical skills through an investigation. The process of mathematical investigation through the MTQ has many benefits to a teaching and learning program, such as: making connections with the Victorian Essential Learning Standards, specifically Working Mathematically but other dimensions such as Communication and Personal and Social Learning, and allowing students to explore creative aspects of mathematics and have 'fun' along the way.
