A possible implementation of quantum computation on quantum dots is discussed. We focus on the application of the spin of the electron confined in the quantum dot to read/write operations of quantum bits (qubits). The realization of quantum logic gates is studied for the spin states of the two-electron system confined in the two coupled quantum dots. We also discuss the advantages and limitations of the quantum-dot quantum computing technology.
