Abstract

The article deals with the literary heritage of Alash intellectual, teacher, translator Otynshy Alzhanuly (1873-1918), including his memoirs and obituaries. In the literature of the nation, the writing of poems, the meaning and features of the memories in the condolences of Alash figures were analyzed. The memorial nature of obituaries in personality studies, the reality of the era and human destiny, similarities and differences with other similar works are distinguished. It should be noted that the analyzed obituaries are based on two bases: the first is the obituaries written by Kazakh intellectuals in connection with the death of the historical figure Otynshy Alzhanuyly, and the second is the obituary (the first and only) written by Otynshy Alzhanuyly himself as a writer.
