This chapter considers the cancers associated with the breast. It looks at the epidemiology, aetiology, diagnosis, and staging of breast cancers. The management of non-invasive, early, locally advanced, and metastatic disease is covered in separate sections. Treatments, including surgery, chemotherapy, endocrine therapy, and radiotherapy, are also summarized. The nursing management of patients receiving these treatments is briefly discussed, as are some of the psychosocial concerns affecting this patient group.
