Abstract

The article discusses the results of an empirical study on the influence of certain traits of HEXACO personality, as well as coping strategies, reflection, and emotional patterns on procrastination behavior. The study aims to test hypotheses about the differences in the severity of these characteristics among individuals with varying levels of procrastination, as well as to identify predictors of procrastination within these characteristics. The authors found out that quasireflection and a lack of emotional control (positive predictors) as well as conscientiousness and planning (negative predictors) are associated with procrastination. These findings contribute to the understanding of the complex interplay between personal characteristics and procrastination behaviors. They also allow us to envision the potential of working with these identified personality traits in the fight against procrastination.
