Abstract
A nurse-led service is bringing essential health care to a remote community in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. People who could never have made the journey to a clinic now receive health advice, screening, and referral for treatment. A particular benefit of the service is the earlier diagnosis of diabetes and the prevention of complications.
