Abstract

that continues to address a topic that is very important to the field of visual impairment. I am very glad I was asked to read the new edition of the book, and I found it to be a useful resource that belongs on the required book lists for personnel preparation programs. I do hope by the third edition, there might be a stronger evidence base for the practices that are currently being used with students with CVI, just as I perpetually hope for a stronger evidence base for most of the practices we as vision professionals commonly employ. Since I now live in Pittsburgh, not far from Western Pennsylvania Hospital, home to the Pediatric VIEW (Vision Information and Evaluation at West Penn Hospital) Program that is referenced in the book, perhaps I might have the opportunity to help Dr. Roman-Lantzy develop some of the evidence base by partnering on a project.
