After identifying some unique problem areas within library operations, the authors show several solutions through case studies on how to address areas of shortcomings and turn them into highly functional units through a controlled change process. Within the various parts are chapters that address themes of communication and conflict management and resolution. How to communicate through productive communication, promote the flow of communication within teams and use various methods of communication, and the importance of conflict management to facilitate collaboration are additional themes to improve functionality. The authors hold leadership responsible to face conflict and learn its management and resolution. They contend that staff needs to feel like their issues are addressed in a safe and transparent way and areas of conflict are confronted by their leaders. Managers need to do their job as mediators to orchestrate change for the welfare of the organization. This is a great manual for the change processes within all libraries and can be of great value to all its readers. There is a benefit for every reader in this work.
