Abstract

―Plastic are high molecular weight organic polymers which can be moulded into desired shapes by the application of heat and pressure‖. Plastic waste is a major environmental and public health problem in India, particularly in the urban areas. Plastic shopping or carrier bags are one of the main sources of plastic waste in our country. Plastic bags of all sizes and colours dot the city ̳s landscape due to the problems of misuse and overuse and littering in India.
