Abstract
Diseases had always followed Franz Kafka like a shadow. He died of TB,an illness that seemed to have made his short life more bright and colorful.Kafka experienced and interpreted diseases in such particular styles that he seemed to become more familiar with the state of being ill than that of being healthy. In a sense, remaining unhealthy not only affects a writer's lifestyle and his/her physical and mental condition, but the writer's modes of thinking and creation as well. When disease functions as a metaphor,it has almost become literary creation itself.
