This article presents the deterministic scheduling of a fleet of plug-in hybrid vehicles for distributed generation. This article seeks to quantify the following factors, which are very important for integrating distributed generation (DG) into the power system: typical driving patterns, battery characteristics and sizing for a PHEV with a 40-mi all-electric range, or AER (using the Chevy Volt as a base-case design), consumer preferences and PHEV penetration forecasts, and power system limitations.
