Abstract
Autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder with an increasing prevalence. It comprises an entire spectrum of characteristics with two core manifestations: a defi cit în social communication and the presence of repetitive behaviours and interests. The primary medical care personnel has an important role in the identifi cation of children with suggestive signs and their redirectioning towards specialized services and also in the long term management of their overall health.
