Abstract

"should be regarded as a psychogenic reaction which requires psychological diagnosis and psychological management". Again, it would be of interest to know of any evidence that such management is of any benefit at all. Meanwhile, we might ask how "neurotic reaction" could explain the findings of Grant and Mears",' that depression and loss of libido are more common with strongly progestogenic oral contraceptives with low doses of eestrogen, e.g., 30% of women on "Anovlar" and 34% on "Volidan" complalned of depression and loss of libido, compared with 6% on sequentials.
