Abstract

No matter which area of an academic library our readers work in, there is a very good chance that they have been involved in at least one team project. Group projects have been a fact of life for many since college, but the stakes are often quite a bit higher in professional settings. Whether the project is taking the lead to plan a new student orientation, or are part of a library space planning project, or begin working with a few colleagues to analyze assessment data, team projects can get unruly fast. The reviews in this issue’s column focus on online resources that promise to make the project management process more bearable. From scheduling meetings with busy colleagues to tracking budgets and assigning tasks, signing up for these free, easy-to-use resources should be high on a librarian’s to-do list when starting a new project. The Public Services Quarterly Internet Resources Column is designed to be a clearinghouse for free, online websites; each column will focus on themes relevant to current issues in academic libraries and feature resources selected to make the lives of p ublic services librarians easier. Any comments about the column, including suggestions for themes or recommendations of web resources, can be directed to Melissa Mallon at mallon.melissa@gmail.com.
