Traction aggravated her symptoms. Electromyography revealed electrophysiological evidence of denervation in.the muscles supplied by the C7, C8 and T1 nerve-roots and a very mild lesion of the left ulnar nerve at the elbow. A myelogram revealed Myodil-filled dural sacs on the left side at C5-C6, C6-C7 and C7-T1 levels. Anterior transposition of the left ulnar nerve was performed, as it was thought that some of the patient's symptoms were due to ulnar nerve neuropathy. The results of the procedure were pleasing, but the patient continued to suffer from nuchal pain with radiation to both shoulders and from giddiness. As well, she became mentally depressed.
