A <i>Cutibacterium acnes</i> antibiotic modulates human skin microbiota composition in hair follicles

It is shown that cutimycin inhibited the growth of Staphylococcus in human skin hair follicles, helping to shape the composition of the hair follicle microbiota, and contributed to the ecology of the skinhair follicles microbiota.
Abstract
<jats:p> Cutimycin, a thiopeptide antibiotic produced by the skin commensal <jats:italic>Cutibacterium acnes</jats:italic> , reduces <jats:italic>Staphylococcus</jats:italic> colonization of human skin hair follicles. </jats:p>
