This cross-sectional study uses data from the 2019 Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System to examine the most recent estimates of disability prevalence among adults in the US.

Abstract

a Strata with a single sampling unit were treated as certainty units (ie, they do not contribute to the SEs). b US 2010 Census weights were used for age standardization. c Numbers in parentheses are weighted counts denoting population size in millions. d Participants who responded yes to at least 1 disability question were identified as having any disability. e Other refers to Asian, Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander, multiracial, and any other race not specified.
