Abstract
The device discovery time of Bluetooth is prohibitively long. This may significantly impact many mobile applica-tions. In this work, we start by analyzing the frequency-matching delay of Bluetooth for both versions V1.1 and V1.2. We then propose three schemes to speed up the device discovery procedure of Bluetooth. The result is a significant reduction of average frequency-matching time from 23.55 seconds to 11.38 seconds.
