Abstract
An activist group in the USA has called for the US government to stop a company from doing a clinical trial in Latin America involving premature babies with respiratory distress syndrome (RDS), an often fatal complication of prematurity. According to the trial protocol, some of the babies would be given a placebo even though there are number of drugs already available for the condition.
