Abstract
Despite the clamor for nonmedical strategies for the treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), school psychologists have few practical and effective educational programs at their disposal. This study presents data on a classroom management approach, the Attention Training System (ATS), which allows for implementation of a response cost program in a way teachers find manageable within regular or self-contained classrooms. In this ABA within-subjects design, the number of off-task behaviors were recorded for six ADHD children during baseline and training phases. These data indicated that five subjects demonstrated clear training effects, which generally dissipated upon cessation of training.
