Abstract
Sarcolemma isolated from skeletal muscle contains an ATPase which is stimulated by (Na+ + K+) in the presence of Mg++. In contrast to the ATPases of mitochondria, fragmented sarcoplasmic reticulum or natural actomyosin of skeletal muscle assayed under the same conditions, the (Na+ + K+)-stimulated ATPase is inhibited by diphegylhydantoin.
