Abstract
Schizofrenie is een complex ziektebeeld waarvan de symptomen binnen verschillende dimensies zijn onder te brengen. Het kan voor onderzoek en evaluatie van de behandeling van waarde zijn om een gedetailleerd beeld te krijgen van de symptomen. De Scale for the Assessment of Negative Symptoms (SANS) vormt samen met de Scale for the Assesment of Positive Symptoms (SAPS) een instrument om alle symptomen die bij schizofrenie kunnen optreden in kaart te brengen en de ernst daarvan te beoordelen. Deze schaal is ruim twee decennia oud.
