Abstract

The editors of this volume assess the contact hypothesis in situations of intergroup encounter, and present an incisive and realistic picture of social psychological contributions to the reduction of conflict. The situations which they evaluate include: Catholics and Protestants in Northern Ireland; Jews and Arabs in Israel; blacks and whites in Britain and the United States.
