Unification, Monopoles, and Cosmology

Abstract

It is shown that the cosmological problem of too many relic monopoles generated in the big bang according to standard grand unification theories can be avoided by several straightforward machanisms, one of which may make monopoles useful as seeds for galaxy formation.
