Abstract

Since China opened its door to foreign tourists, there have been millions of visitors to China. In coping with the influx of foreigners, many modern hotels have been built or are going to be built. Personnel with modern hotel management techniques are in great demand. A major hotel management training program has been established in Shanghai. This article examines the development and initial results of this training program. It is hoped that the experience recorded here will serve as an example to other training program planners.
