Abstract

A focus group interview was carried out with a group of nurses to evaluate a liaison mental health nursing role. This work carried out by a liaison mental health nurse (LMHN), had been in operation for several years in a haematology unit. The views of nurses using the service were positive. The LMHN role was valued for its availability and visibility, objectivity and mental health expertise.
