Abstract
This article discusses the shortcomings of methodological resources when conducting research in organizational studies, stating that there is little material that deals with the discovery process or qualitative methodology. The article states that it is important to broaden the conceptualization of 'method' to include discovery processes so that discussion about analytic interpretation can be discussed in the open. The article discusses imaginative theorizing, using an example of a sculpture to illustrate the point. The article describes what humans use for inspiration in their imaginative musings and how micro-processes help develop ideas.
