Abstract
Table : Serum TNF and plasma sTNF.RI in normal pregnancy and pre-eclamptic toxaemia (PET) the concentration of TNF itself in pre-eclampsia have been shown, but mainly in women with severe forms of the disease Our working hypothesis is that TNF participates in the growth and development of the normal conceptus but does so in some women with greater risk than others because of high TNF responder status.The subsequent complications could be interpreted as TNF-associated and we therefore believe that the relation of TNF allelotypes and responder status with this disease should be examined.
